MY WORLD Maymont Park in Richmond, Virginia
I was lucky enough to be babysitter for my daughter on a trip to Richmond Virginia with them for a meeting and a wedding! And so this is My World post for this week!
We had a day in between where we managed to get out to see Maymont Park.
Unfortunately due to time constraints (managing it in between baby's schedule) we didn't get to see through the house...but we did get to walk over most of the park!
and what a wonderful place it proved to be!
It wwas quite a large park, and it took quite a while to wander through it!
It was quite close to the city....
After finding a small cafe and eating a late lunch under a lovely shady tree (see later), we had a great time wandering the grounds, and looking at the animals.
pretty flowers....on a Tulip Tree -( Liriodendron tulipifera )
an absolutely beautiful Japanese Garden..one of the best ever...hopefully some pictures of this from my daughter's camera at a later date, as my batteries ran out! Maybe for My World next Tuesday!
The baby just loved seeing all the animals....
I quite liked the owls...so still...except the one above earlier in the post who closed his eyes when I started taking photos, and then opened them a little later!
we were all surprised to find bears ...(in a large enclosure), even though they were lying far away and not easy to see.

someone is demonstrating her wing span...
this magnificent eagle....sad to think they might have clipped wings...?
chickens and roosters....
a cow....mooo...
a duck...quack....
all the animals the baby has been learning about..in his books and songs...one of which is Old Macdonald had a farm...and there we were...down on the farm!

a lovely old tree to have lunch underneath...
men mowing with masks...so much hayfever and allergies around!
lovely and green, and meandering paths around!
Time to leave Maymont Park...hope you enjoyed our visit! If you would like to contribute, or see other contributors to this week's MY WORLD ...please click on the MY WORLD icon over in the sidebar....
