Moments with friends

Image
Some photos from a few weeks ago... special moments with friends... moments at flower displays... at the TAFE in Toowoomba during the Carnival of Flowers weekend. Prayers for friends having operations this week. May God go with them and their surgeons, and their families. God's peace and healing powers be with you.

A vision of blue

Image
It wasn't the most pleasant weather up on the mountain, but the vision of blue was spectacular, in Queen's Park, Toowoomba. all part of the Carnival of Flowers weekend. A busy weekend, lots to see and do I always love the delicate irises tucked up in their bed beside the hedge. But this whole BLUE massed display was just STUNNING. I thought I was in heaven!

Today's Flowers

Image
A couple of flowers from the native plant exhibition last weekend. I am disappointed in my photos..not many and pretty poor quality. Must have been because there were quite a few people there! and of course a couple of flowers from the sepia tinted lane, during dust storms of the last week and one from the day after! A couple of photos from Toowoomba where they have a wonderful Carnival of Flowers every year...and a garden competition. It has been a rough few years with the drought, but poeple have managed to put on quite a show...with water restrictions and all! the above are preteas... and some from Brisbane...orchids above oleanders, such a pretty flower! another orchid , I think, above... another grevillea above. A wonderful bauhinia tree on the way home from church today And the jacarandas have started to flower also!

Todays Flowers from Queen's Park Toowoomba

First of all, some orchids from my front yard ... then some images taken from Queen's Park in Toowoomba. We have been very lucky to have seen them all, especially since it is about 3 weeks until their Carnival of Flowers parade. because of the warmer weather, everything seemed to be flowering earlier. The rununculas were looking great.... the pansies striking but my absolute favorites this year were the white and pink beds.... how pretty they were.. I haven't actually seen them do a bed like this before that I can remember.... But of course the irises were amazing as usual...I love irises, especially the blue and purple ones!
