A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road and others cut branches from the trees Hosanna to the Son of David Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in turmoil asking "who is this"? The crowds were saying "this is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee". photos taken today at SPSA, St Pauls and St Andrew's, NYC. where the congregation processed with palm branches and donkey around the city block before entering the church triumphantly.

We all went to church for the kids pageant... someone had his first role ....he was a baby cow in the manger! Sat waiting quietly (ahem) for his cue....watching the others.... the angel appeared to the shepherds watching their sheep..."the glory of the Lord shone round about them.....do not be afraid...you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth, and lying in a manger... " and performed magnificently.... Mary treasured all these words, and pondered them in her heart Glory to God in the highest heaven And then we went home! This is brought to you instead of Today's Flowers. As I have not been out looking for flowers to photograph this week. I have been cured of my nasty sinus infection though. So nice to feel better after a week laid low. Praise God!

I had a lovely Mother's Day on Sunday. we went to church...down at 86th street... and afterwards we walked over to Central park with some friends for a picnic lunch again. the baby loved it! then we decided to walk up to 125th street where we could catch a train home! 40 blocks isn't far in New York...especially when you are walking through Central Park.... We came upon these apartments on Central Park West. It has obviously been a church in a past life, but they have taken a couple of years to refurbish it into apartments...sounds nice! The height of the buildings dramatically decreases up in Morningside Heights.... The Cathedral of St John the Divine at around 110th St has a new shiny copper roof apparently. Morningside Park had many steps!! and this pretty tree with an unusual leaf! One of the schools we walked past! and one of the gates at the north western corner of Central Park at 110th St. and a rather impressive sculpture also... we walked across 125th until we arrived ...

On Easter Sunday the baby got to open his first Easter present. Then we all went off to church down at W86th St. The kids came bounding in at the end waving banners while the congregation and the choir all sang the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah. The banner at the front of the church, is a very apt description of how this congregation sees it's role in the community. The flowers were very beautiful. I love the simple stained glass windows. After church, and fellowship over coffee afterward was over. we strolled over to Central Park...it was a little cool...should I say cold...with a nasty cold wind blowing, but we were well dressed for the weather, luckily! the spring flowers were looking gorgeous and the apartments too It seemed a great day for photography.. Here is a shot of the blossoms on the east side from the Jackie Onassis reservoir and the Guggenheim seems as if it is still under wraps...well, at least only the roof this time! And here we end our lovely walk in...
