Monday book
This sore foot has had unexpected advantages, Having to rest a foot, means reading books for me. This week I found a book on a shelf with an intriguing title, The Secret Life of Bees, (by Sue Monk Kidd) thinking I may have already read it, but luckily I hadn't. But I am sure lots of people have already read it, or even seen a movie. I didn't remember that there was a movie, until I googled it. from page 56: "Your colored woman ain't here," he said, looking at me. "I took her to hospital for stitches' She took a fall and hit her head." Took a fall, my rear end. I wanted to throw his boiled peanuts against the wall. I could not keep myself from shouting at him. "What do you mean, she fell and hit her head?" Mr Gaston looked over at Brother Gerald, that all-knowing look that men give each other when a female acts the least bit hysterical.
