After seeing a photo of some spring fashions, on Madison Avenue, where else but New York, on Daryl's blog (on the m104) this morning, I remembered our lovely day out in New York when I was there earlier this year. and seeing some Spring fashions mid-February. But first we had a walk through one of our favorite places...the Met. On 5th Avenue. And lo and behold, who was it who found the moon, in a painting, first thing as we walked in! Clever boy! The moon being one of his favorite things of the time. someone was very interested in everything... for quite a while, until it gets tiring.... what a fun time we had. I think it might have been a wee bit cold outside... so we hurried along...ah, yes, I remember it was a Very Windy Day, as well as Cold! a crazy New York windy day... so after a quick window shop as we walked along, and a quick look at the Spring fashions, we decided to go upstairs for lunch Always fun to lunch with family, isn't it? I went to a quilt craft show today, and there was this lovely old bicycle parked outside! Bringing back memories, new and old. It had flowers in the basket...and a flat tire. Must have come out of an antique shop, I think! And Marilyn, from As Good a Day As Any , this morning had a similar photo of her bicycle, with basket. Much more modern. I had commented that I thought she was going to grow flowers in the basket! And lo and behold there is one to greet me today at the Craft Show!

Going out the other night, I noticed the moon looking quite lovely, and was fortunate to capture this shot.

it was obviously raining the other day when I was pulled up beside this traffic box... I presume this is supposed to be a rendition of Elvis?

Pentecost...flames of fire came down from Heaven let the Son shine in!

Flowers are such a wonderful thing on a special occasion. They can say we love you, when we say goodbye to a good friend, husband, brother, brother in law. and they can also be just ordinary flowers growing in a garden, but how they can cheer us when our faces alight on theirs.... and they almost seem to have even more significance when a marriage is celebrated, don't you think? And then when you come home to your own garden, there is often a little overlooked gem sitting beaming at you from the bushes. Thank you to my little zygocactus , for being a faithful flower every year. This post is for the Brenda Photo Challenge this month...on FLOWERS...can you guess? the bromeliad is a bit late flowering this year, I usually see them at Easter. loved these shots of the agapanthus and the seedpod.... and of course the zygocactus is looking good too....

from the last fortnight... in the tropical north... to farewell a special brother in law... discovering something called an elephant apple tree.... some coffee beans...growing in a front yard... and papaws too....yum... special flowers for remembering.... saying farewell to the north, and saying hello back home briefly.... and another trip up over the mountain .... flowers in the bride's yard.... little people.... and off to the soccer on saturday morning.... and a wedding in the afternoon....beautiful bride..... looks like the groom really wasn't very well ....as they said... saying goodbye to the views from the top of the mountain.... a busy fortnight indeed....
