I noticed the morning light shining through the hibiscus in the front garden this morning, above.. and most of these flowers are photos from gardens around here that I took on my morning walk the other day...azaleas above...a little early (it is still winter here) gerberas were lovely... was surprised to find a pineapple flowering outside the library when I went over to the Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens, on the western outskirts of Brisbane .... a lovely purple rose.... and this strange flower on quite a large bush...Bixa orellana some very pretty canna lilies... and begonias...all colors! flowers on a paperbark tree..... camellias...very lovely... above, a lassiandra, I think.... a Strelitzia (or Bird of Paradise) a healthy looking poinsettia.... a pink hibiscus.... some purple lantana, yellow orange and red hibiscus.... a very pretty golden bougainvillea..... and a good shot of a bauhinia.... Today we went for a walk down to Riverside Drive after church, and had a little picnic in the park. The flowers are just starting to bloom. This wonderful pink blossomed tree. Is this what they call the cherry blossoms I wonder? and I think these are called crocuses! and it looked a bit like someone might have planted this azalea. It seems a bit early to me, but maybe not here? And of course there was this little stand of daffodils flowering also...again, the only ones I have seen fully out yet here in NY...but then I haven't been around very far yet... these little ones might have been crocuses in Inwood park a day or so ago.... And this latest bunch from Riverside drive yesterday was just spectacular!
