A park, the river, Moreton Bay Figs and the City Hall

A few glimpses around town...I went over to New Farm Park..... a lovely old park on the banks of the Brisbane River. It also houses the new (very old building) of the Brisbane Powerhouse museum. New Farm Park used to have lots of lovely old jacaranda trees..some of which have been cut down in the interests of public safety. A lovely old gazebo still stands in the park, providing shade and shelter. And I imagine is still used for some band concerts there on weekends. New Farm is quite close to the city, and thus is becoming a trendy place to live. There are many roses planted throughout the park, but they are not flowering at the moment. The huge pods were hanging from one of the old Moreton Bay Fig Trees that still stand down by the river bank. Some more photos were in my Keeping Cool post on Saturday! The city cat ferry runs along the river at a good pace, thus providing river transport for those who wish to commute to the city by river. Not a bad way to travel. Cool in the summer. A...
