 the zygocactus is always pretty..such a lovely color...  the Moreton Bay Fig Tree is pretty impressive too  always love the early morning lighting effects... and camellias are very pretty and prolific too at the moment. and of course there are always forays to the beach...when it is not too crowded...

Come with me on a tour of the Brisbane Boys Grammar School Looks like it has been here for a while, but kept in good repair. Nice grounds, lovely old trees, Moreton Bay Figs. Good shade areas for recess times. It certainly has a great spot up on a terrace near the city. And a great gymnasium where we had the opportunity to see some youngsters going for their level 3 gymnastics.on various apparatus. The youngsters were exercising the natural gifts they have been given, gifts of ability. Using gifts of time from their parents to exercise these abilities. A few glimpses around town...I went over to New Farm Park..... a lovely old park on the banks of the Brisbane River. It also houses the new (very old building) of the Brisbane Powerhouse museum. New Farm Park used to have lots of lovely old jacaranda trees..some of which have been cut down in the interests of public safety. A lovely old gazebo still stands in the park, providing shade and shelter. And I imagine is still used for some band concerts there on weekends. New Farm is quite close to the city, and thus is becoming a trendy place to live. There are many roses planted throughout the park, but they are not flowering at the moment. The huge pods were hanging from one of the old Moreton Bay Fig Trees that still stand down by the river bank. Some more photos were in my Keeping Cool post on Saturday! The city cat ferry runs along the river at a good pace, thus providing river transport for those who wish to commute to the city by river. Not a bad way to travel. Cool in the summer. A...

Well, the Lord provides , doesn't he? Despite being not able to remember the theme for the Brenda Photo Challenge , and then not having a clue what I would post when I did keep looking it up...(well, there are thousands of photos on my computer, and many of them would be suitable, but I also like to be topical and up to date)....I had to go into the city yesterday to New Farm, which is just beyond the city and on the bank of the beautiful Brisbane River. So I went into the old New Farm Park, where I could drive around, and also park and get out on the riverbank, and take these photos! There is nothing like being on a city cat on the river on a warm day...for the cool breeze coming off the river to cool you down...what a way to travel! Now despite it being winter in Queensland here, and the nights being quite cool..as I mentioned in a previous post it can get down to zero...lately 2 degrees (celsius) overnight, more correctly in the early mornings, it can also be quite warm during ...
