In Australia, K is for KOOKABURRAS a nd KOALA signs on the road not to mention the KANGAROOS Ah, the kids (little girls) have a baby KID to hold... yes, and the girl has a Kid Brother...doing that handsign thing again...like all older brothers... Just to show she was a genuine kid girl...she milked the goat...I can't believe she did this! Is she just doing it for the photo...or was she just kidding ? (haha) Come into the KITCHEN for a minute, there is something I want to show you...but don't look too carefully at my messy kitchen though....(I forgot to tidy it up for you, as I usually do for visitors..oops)! This is what I call my kettle ...(although I know it is my electric jug really)...as in Polly put the kettle on...we'll all have tea! here is another more antiquated version of my sort of Kettle ....a bit dusty and being used as a bookend! The encyclopaedias above had lots of countries starting in K words...but not really clear enough photos to be scann...

Hope you like my Iris today...I really love them ..they are out all over the place here now, I think they are one of my favorite, but this photo isn't quite as clear and sharp and crisp as I would like! There were a few spectacular skies in Melbourne before I left for home...I was often having to rush out with the camera to take a photo... or two.... or three or four! As, I travelled around, there were a few interesting things pop up as I went by! Whenever I see these ugly power lines, I laugh, because they remind me of the "serenity" in the Australian movie from a few years back The Castle. I think this one might be from my place when I got home! The flying kangaroo took me to and from Melbourne.... All of Melbourne is in an AFL Grand Final fever/frenzy ..they had some footy flags flying at the airport when I was there! just outside the airport! around Melbourne.... thought these clouds were pretty impressive... and this one must have been from before I left Queensland....on the road to Toowoomba although this is I think back in in Melbourne...sorry to be so confusing ....! J is for Jacarandas As I returned home to Queensland from Melbourne yesterday, I was surprised to find that the Jacarandas have started to flower. It makes me start to wonder..where has the year gone...as do all the students when they see the first Jacarandas flowering...exams can't be far away! The seasons are a'changing here in Melbourne, Australia, too. I detect a couple of little short sleeves in that closet there! It is spring now here..heading towards summer. Melbourne is a very changeable city, weather wise..they say they can have four seasons in one day. Bright blue sunshine can rapidly deteriorate into grey skies, and thunderstorms and cold weather! Even in summer. Today we experienced just that by driving up into the hills not too far from here. Daddy and Grandma took the little people for a drive , to let Mummy have a break for a bit. She works very hard looking after twins and a four year old, just changing suburbs and kindy, and trying to unpack into a new home. The clouds came rolling by, the wind blew up, and it turned freezing cold, and quite unpleasant for little people. The lookout was equipped with a lovely undercover lookout, in the guise of a very expensive restaurant! We decided to eat our meusli bars in the car instead and drive home, forgoing the pl...
