into town again
another trip to town ..I love going in by train and taking photos...I feel like a tourist! this old building is up on Wickham Terrace looks like there was a function there. It is called the Greenhouse . Now home to the United Services Club. I will have to look up a bit more about the history of it. Montpelier next to it was originally a private guest house and the Greenhouse building was a doctor's surgery and residence back in the late 1800's. Wickham Terrace runs along the top of Edward street...well I guess technically it intersects Edward. The Baptist City Tabernacle stands proudly there too on the corner. One day I will have to see about taking some photos inside. there are all sorts of buildings there now..modern, old and very old. Of course our very old isn't all that old I suppose. The Tower Mill of course might be one of the earliest structures...especially around this area. It stands at the highest point of Wickham Terrace and was built in 1828 when Brisbane ...
