 May 2023 Lucky to have escaped catching the dreaded Covid after minding a grandchild who came down sick with it the next day! Unfortunately most of the rest of the little family, mainly all the males, tested positive for Covid19 and had some time off work and school. Mum was not well, but it wasnt the same virus according to her RATS. The boys went to a chess tournament soon after going back to school, one winning his section and the other with a Merit ribbon for winning most of his games! Well done boys! Pleased I escaped the virus and it's possible complications as I was dealing with a very scratchy itchy  angry face after a rather aggressive 4 week skin cancer treatment on it. Thank goodness that has come to an end! Starting to settle a little now. whew. Not much fun, but glad it is over now! The coronation of King Charles happened also, photos of that would have been a little more exciting. I'll try to find one! There we go...managed to find the photos! Have a great week....

 some of the agapanthus in flower at the moment... very pretty... at sunset...  and of course at sunset.. the waterlilies are closed up for the night... I had to go back the next morning to see them awake!

Only one sunset photo amongst my week's photos. Most unusual. The skies must have been just clear or smoggy, for there to be no sunset photos! Yesterday I had to go to Toowong. And managed to capture some sky pictures while attending to some chores. As I look at these pictures, I stop and suddenly wonder ...I wonder how the man is, who slept and lived here opposite this spot on the footpath for years and years, surrounded by his many bags of possessions. It seemed for a long time no-one was able to convince him to move on, but amazingly, after many years (I think at least fifteen?) they did. And now I wonder, where has he gone, and how is he? I hope he is well and happy. And maybe able to live a more normal life perhaps? Ziggy is the name I think they used to call him. People wandering along the street always used to stop and chat. Or ignore him. I was very surprised as I crossed the road to see a poinciana starting to flower. the seedpods from the jacaranda were quite startling in...

This was quite a photograph when I stepped out of the house in Toowoomba the other day. as well as this...while I was minding the baby during a wedding rehearsal... and these skies from here in Brisbane took my eye yesterday...it helps to have the camera with you when you see a great shot doesn't it? I was over at my neighbor's place and saw the light shining on the palm...the skies have been quite blue and sunny as you can see, with only a hint of cloud. We would love some rain...it has been about 6 weeks or more without rain here. They are predicting some for Monday..let's hope it happens. This bougainvillea has been flowering away for quite some time down the road from here. Finally I remembered to take my camera and take a photo! Well, the week has been a wonderful one, what with wonderful flowers, not to mention some spectacular sunsets (see skywatch friday below)..and a visit to Toowoomba the Garden City up on the Great Dividing Range, South East Queensland. This rose was quite beautiful and delicate. At least I think it was a rose! I really should have spent more time driving around looking at all the beautiful gardens, that are flowering there , despite the very bad situation with their water supply! Someone said recently that their dams are down to 7% capacity. I can hardly believe that could be true. Well, sort of, beacuase I know they have been in a bad way for a long time! Here's praying for a regular old wet season to fill those dams this Christmas..or before! I just love purple irises, don't you? They remind me of my Mum who used to grow them beau...
