Mum's orchid flowers ...and going nowhere fast
What a beautiful orchid. So happy to see it flowering away up there. The weather has been warm and humid in SE Queensland. And circumstances required that I leave my little Melbourne family at my place having their Queensland holiday, and hop on a plane to Melbourne myself. For a family wedding. Packing for a southern climate (23 degrees ) in dripping humidity (33 degrees) is not much fun. Have another shower to change clothes, and one is as dripping wet as before!! Circumstances required sitting on a plane at the gate for three hours while a great tropical storm rolled on by just as we were about to leave. Interesting. A two hour flight became a 5 hour odyssey. Never had to sit in a plane for quite so long going nowhere before. In fact the turbulence at one stage was such that one would have thought we were in the air. Very funny! The airline kept reassuring us by saying that we were in a "safe environment"!! All's well that ends well, and a wonderful family dinner with...
