The Merchant of Venice in New York
On my last evening in New York, we strolled down to the park after dinner, and were lucky to discover a performance of The Merchant of Venice outdoors on the peninsular. What a spot, with the Palisades of New Jersey in the background under the bridge! I had been wishing we had had time to see it, but things had been a little busy.... there are always actors waiting in the wings...and we were right among them! what a wonderful idea for the lazy summer nights! Time to take baby home...having seen his first Shakespearian performance! And for Grandma to start packing!
