Out and about during the week by train... always intrigued by the art deco around...this was at Corinda station on my way to Inala for the art and craft It is agapanthus time here already... in the city, taken from the transit center Police Headquarters was where I had to catch a bus to The Percolater Art Gallery one of the many red corrugated iron roofs of Brisbane City getting off at the Trammie's corner...obviously reminding me of the trams that once ran around the roads of this fine city when I was growing up.. past the antique shops.. I'm not totally sure of the significance of these little mosaic plaques around the place... Was very intrigued by the state of repair of this place I walked past...on my 93 meters I had to walk from the bus stop, according to my travel instructions I can't believe I don't have a photo of the actual art gallery I went to, but I will include the link to the artist's website... WENDY C...

Leaving on a jet plane...

dont know when I'll be back again... leaving the city behind... enjoying the lift off...over the islands.... Moreton Island above.... the mountains.... flying in at sunset to NYC...my second home! a walk to the park with the grandson...to play in the leaves... the sun is setting on another glorious day.... time to head back up the hill for home... as the sun sets.... Welcome to my beautiful world. Brisbane is a bustlling city on the banks of the Brisbane River, and is the capital of the State of Queensland in Australia. I will let you look up the history for yourself! Otherwise I might get it wrong! The above photo was taken at the University of Queensland, which is located also on the bend of the river at the suburb of St Lucia. A great place to study but not the only one in the capital. There is also Griffith Uni , and QUT, Queensland University of Technology. There are other tertiary institutions scattered around the State, which is very large, and diverse. From the long coastline of beaches, and the Great Barrier Reef in the North, to the Great Dividing Range which extends from the north to the south, a couple of kilometres inland...beyond which are various fertile farming soils of plateaus, mining areas, as well as sparse outback areas of cattle and wheat and sheep properties.
