New Era

Image
A new Era  A new Header today! Looking towards the mountains. Last year these mountains were covered by smoke  from bush fires for months! Here we are today A new year ..a new season in our lives  I even found that my camera that stopped working last year has started working again! Sometimes small miracles happen  Meanwhile the bear waits for the kids to visit..One day maybe!  The news is understandably full of covid 19  But the sun is still rising and setting  and so is the moon too!   the flowers bloom and fade and the seasons still change ! I'm keeping my eye on this tree on my morning walk!  But fortunately there are bright spots in our days   spectacular cloud formations to take our minds off ourselves!   and creativity flourishes in the midst of loneliness, disease, isolation and despair even! May God bless you wherever you are! May he keep his face shining upon you. ...

Sunday's Psalm

Image
1 Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; 2O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy 5I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. 6 My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. 7...put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love.....

I ducked out early this morning to take some photos with the early morning light... I hope whoever lives here didn't mind my pointing my camera at their window! The sky turned out to be pretty terrific today. I know you won't believe this , but yesterday, it snowed, very briefly while I was out walking the baby grandson! I was so excited, because I had hoped for some snow but didn't like to tell anyone, since everyone is so looking forward to the warmer weather. I had wondered when I looked at the clouds, and felt how cold it was, whether there might have been some snow around...I couldn't believe it when all this white fluffy snow started flying around. Not much, but good enough! And it didn't last long either! and then of course, we had wet skies for several days this week. I love the wet weather! These photos, as most of you probably know by now, were taken in Inwood Park. For those of you who don't know, Inwood is at the northern most tip of Manhattan Isla...

Skywatch Friday

Image
There was a wonderful sunrise the other day! Just beautiful. I am not often awake that early and ready to take photos. I am glad I was this day! I am always amazed at how quickly the sky changes...the above photos were all taken on the same morning ... Thought I should show you that there were some blue skies this week. Because most of the rest of the photos have overcast skies. Not that I mind. I am happy to have any number of overcast skies, especially it it means cooler weather or rain! rain approaches again from the west... a pleasant sky one afternoon last weekend...and overcast skies at the botanic Gardens... (where the lotus flowers were in bloom...watch out on Sunday's Today's Flowers for some more of the lovely lotus) The sky was overcast on Sunday morning. With a lovely view out the church window...after the service finished! skies were overcast on Tuesday also when I went out to have a cup of tea with the ladies. and then there was the sunset last night.... A...
