quiet moments

Image
A quick walk to the park this afternoon late when I realized I hadn't been out all day produced a few quiet moments for reflection I was so pleased I got the time to go out. How lovely it was to be out in the fresh air, families everywhere enjoying themselves. Just beautiful.

Tra la

Tra la...here we are trying out the grand piano after the baptism...a wonderful composition in honor of his sister! I think. Or just enjoying himself. someone also really likes playing trains and a walk back down to the park yesterday brought more surprises another dogwood flowering...that was nice to see and the little baby geese were up under the tree on my way back.... gosh they have grown... and more flowers out I really liked these ones around at the Dyckman farmhouse the irises are just divine and I call this one a weigela...very similar to one I had back in Queensland very pretty. All in all not a bad weekend when one is not well, and can't stop coughing. But getting better slowly. I think. I hope.

May Flowers .... The Brenda Photo Challenge

Image
On one of the last days of April, the beautiful tree down at the Inwood Hill park peninsular was showing its fast fading colors. I thought it fitting somehow that an elderly couple had chosen to sit under it for my last photo of it. and of course the elusive but absolutely beautiful lilac has been a popular favorite in May and a humble geranium holds third spot...in honor of my daughter and her family who have housed me here in NYC for over a month while they settle down after the birth of their new (second) baby...it is one of her favorite flowers. And now I have a confession to make as we admire this purple beauty...I am going to have to cut the adjectives, because I have included 17 more of my favorite photos from May, especially these ones from our trip to the New York Botanical Gardens last weekend. please feel free to skip them if you don't have the time to peruse but I think you may enjoy them, especially these cat tails and this striking one as well ad now we have some from...

Going home

Won't be all that long before I have to leave this dear little family and go home what fun it has been hanging out with them here ...good to have a friend to walk with when you are not all that well, and you are getting tired too... good to have lots of friends, and family always a bit more difficult when you are trying to do it alone good to have a brother or sister help you along the way what's better than the whole family? Hooray for families. photos of geese taken at Inwood Hill Park
