On one of the last days of April, the beautiful tree down at the Inwood Hill park peninsular was showing its fast fading colors. I thought it fitting somehow that an elderly couple had chosen to sit under it for my last photo of it. and of course the elusive but absolutely beautiful lilac has been a popular favorite in May and a humble geranium holds third spot...in honor of my daughter and her family who have housed me here in NYC for over a month while they settle down after the birth of their new (second) baby...it is one of her favorite flowers. Yesterday we partook of our delayed Mother's Day outing. I am not sure either of the parents got more sleep than the day before Mother's Day, but anyway, perhaps they are just used to that good old sleep-deprived feeling. Erg. I can barely think about it. Anyway, someone was off and running the minute we were in the gate. He was after the tram! I think he probably would have caught it, if we hadn't wanted to detour through the Children's Adventure Garden first. after a bit of discussion, we were off past birdhouses wonderful flowers the azalea garden was magnificent. In full flower. How lucky we were! some funny creatures appeared along the way and then we had our tram tour through the whole Botanical Gardens. It certainly would be worth visiting again...for a much longer time too. Trouble is it is right next to the Bronx Zoo...decisions decisions.
