The sky was doing its usual brilliant thing the other day when I set off for my morning walk. It was the sort of morning I was so pleased I had taken my camera. Had to stop at the top of the street down the road to get the obligatory photo of the mountains ..from a different angle than from my back verandah, one can see slightly different mountains in the Great Dividing Range to the south. Even early on in my walk that day I think I was fascinated by the light in the sky! So I snapped several photos as I walked along..... through the dog walking park...proposed freeway bypass....(very sad proposal..think I might have mentioned it before) Suddenly there was a bright vapor trail starting to for across the sky, so of course I had to snap it too.... Do you see anything starting to happen in the sky there? I think I can! The vapor trail was brilliant...so was the sky and the sunshine through the clouds. Welcome to my beautiful world. Brisbane is a bustlling city on the banks of the Brisbane River, and is the capital of the State of Queensland in Australia. I will let you look up the history for yourself! Otherwise I might get it wrong! The above photo was taken at the University of Queensland, which is located also on the bend of the river at the suburb of St Lucia. A great place to study but not the only one in the capital. There is also Griffith Uni , and QUT, Queensland University of Technology. There are other tertiary institutions scattered around the State, which is very large, and diverse. From the long coastline of beaches, and the Great Barrier Reef in the North, to the Great Dividing Range which extends from the north to the south, a couple of kilometres inland...beyond which are various fertile farming soils of plateaus, mining areas, as well as sparse outback areas of cattle and wheat and sheep properties.
