Today's Flowers

I found these trees on the way home from tennis...I had to turn around and find somewhere to park (in a lady's driveeway) to get this shot. Flame trees are just stunning when you see them, especially when they are growing beside a jacaranda ! and of course the carpet the jacaranda leaves on the ground....apologies to those who saw them during the week...(I couldn't wait till Sunday)... a lovely floral arrangement at dinner during the week...I think that looks like a bromeliad flower.... a funny little ochna flower...I just discovered it is also called the mickey mouse plant...a shrub that was introduced to Australia from South Africa in the early 1900's (I think).... a lovely garden I pass on my walk...the pink flowers were petunias I think! and my pink flowering tree (which I had identified as a Lagunaria patersonius during the week from the herbarium at Mt Cootha)...more commonly known as a Norfolk Island Hibiscus apparently...is nearly finished flowering...very sa...
