Vale dear Aunty Joan, wife and mother extraordinaire. Always interested in people. Terrific support to her husband, an Ag Scientist, and university lecturer, who worked in Tanzania amongst other places. I used to enjoy going to their place  for Sunday night supper after church, meeting lots of other people, both young and old. Amazing Christian couple. Thanks for your faith and hard work, at keeping in touch with students, passing on advice, always welcomed, and for caring about people, especially Doug, and me, at times. Sad I was unable to attend the service in Melbourne. Will always remember you both, and your amazing, and extended family. May God bless those who grieve, but know that you have pleased God with your life time of service to others, and enriched those of us who knew you both. Our lives will never be the same for knowing you and experiencing a very different way of life that is becoming less common in these modern times.

Someone had a great time driving tractors ... at Farm Fantastic. Well, pretending to drive I guess. Probably just as much fun when you are a little smallish. to be continued...

the weather has been on again off again, but not too bad really, being winter still officially... so we managed a short trip to the beach last weekend until the rain chased us home  the clouds were quite spectacular  but despite the cold, and the impending rain  there were still some brave swimmers It is always about team work on the beach with the life savers ah, it is nice to be at the beach and to see the ocean again.

 On what was a fairly dull and dreary day  I decided to pop in to see the Buderim Pioneer Cottage  before I did my shopping up there today...I wonder if this wonderful bloom is part of the nasty Datura family? It looks a bit like it, but oh so pretty. there was a wonderful lassiandra flowering outside too  It was all rather like an old historical museum really loved the old gramophone..  The young couple who bought the land and obviously built the old cedar cottage must have had a large number of children,  as they had built a narrow set of stairs leading up to a couple of attic bedrooms.. this children's cot looks rather like the one that my Mum had for all of us. I think my older sister inherited it, I wonder if she still has it?  the old kitchens are rather classic...  though undoubtedly there are still some of these grand old wood stoves around, and kettles in use, in many a country kitchen today... It doe...

 I had the opportunity to pop up to a Quilt Show at Buderim  some very interesting quilts,  loved the colors in the one above and the little challenge place mats were interesting..  loved the kangaroos on this one..  and the one above was fascinating  lots to see  even the hibiscus flowers decorating the tables where we had a coffee were amazing  amazingly huge and colorful!!

 climbing up Emu Mountain  View of the Sunshine Coast from the top a pretty fungus flower on the way at the top.. back down at sea level, we walk through the Wallum scrub to get to the ocean...  Mt Coolum rises above the scrub  finally, the ocean appears always fun to be at the ocean again  there's been a fair bit of erosion  with all the wild weather  that we have been having  this year... time for a paddle...quite a beautiful day for winter, maximum 24 degrees Celsius... time to walk back again to the car. We don't always have to walk that far to get to the beach, but it was interesting anyway. Hope you have had a great week...and have an even better one next week!
