Welcome to Toowoomba...perched high on a plateau on top of the Great Dividing Range...west of Brisbane...an hour and a half's drive ....and the business and commerce centre for the Darling Downs, a highly fertile area of land that stretches west to , um, Roma...north to um, I am not sure...well, let's forget about the boundaries...I have forgotten them all ... where we/ they/ us were staying in a long/short stay rental house It is rather nice to be here. A very pleasant , clean city, close to visit relatives and attend wedding celebrations. First of all, for a NYC lad, get used to the wide open spaces. Toowoomba truly is a crossroads. I think, if you have good eyes, this sign might tell you how far it is, or which way to go, to places like Warwick, Gatton, Crows Nest, etc. We had to go down to the main street for shopping on Saturday, so I was able to take some photos..of the Anglican church across the road from our shop...very nice... and the church hall... with its unusual ro...
