 Spring has arrived very pleasantly, with some nice spring rain falls...and of course all the wonderful flora... this delicate purple flower was found in the local park among the rushes beside the pond/spring... And of course with the onset of Spring comes the spring school holidays...good fun to spend more time with the kids...  pretty fresias, may have been featured already  good to have a quick trip to the ocean, despite being unwell, hence someone had to wear Grandma's jacket to stop him from coughing in the sea breeze... a tent is always a fun place to play on holidays... Just as well we are all feeling so much better and the coughs seem to have disappeared in time for school again! Hooray.

The spring flowers are abloom, bringing joy to some, and misery to others, who are allergic. One advantage of the weather lately has been admiring the various blooms .. these irises were looking quite delightful on Sunday... the birds like to come out of the rain I love listening to them as they warble happily away. this magpie was quite happy sitting there yesterday as I took several photos of him  quite a nice sunset last night didn't really indicate the rain that was to come today the butcher bird was happy to take refuge today and similarly warbled a song for me thanks for coming little fellow... sorry I had to use the flash to get a nice photo of you, promise I won't do it again! pop in again tomorrow, I think the rain will still be here, according to the forecast. hopefully the low might be passing by us faster than they were predicting.  Unfortunately we don't really need the rain after the last lot a few weeks ago of 16 inches.  Oh well, what's another couple of inches after that many? I just hope it doesn't fl...

so glad I cleaned the windows, don't you love the late afternoon light at the change of seasons, it seems to have a wonderful pinkish quality to it a lovely arrangement of flowers for early church yesterday and the iris were just wonderful I just love irises I think they are just the perfect flower and look who came to visit after I got home from church it has become so hot outside he must have been having a dip in the pool hello dear kookaburra, having a bad hair day, I am so glad I cleaned those windows! there'll always be an orchid during Spring and look at that color wonder why the color disappeared when I focused on it as the sun set very rapidly? and the first jacarandas are out...lovely!

Some pretty flowers during the week, mainly up on the range in Toowoomba....petunias... jacarandas.... hibiscus.... cactus type flowers.... silky oak.... someone told me this is a yukka....but I googled yukka and I don't think it is now? Found another one out at tennis and they tell me it is a pony tail palm, a native of Mexico... The "Ponytail Palm" is really not a palm at all. It is a member of the Lilaceae (lily family), and is known as "elephant's foot" because of its bulbous base. It is native to the desert of Mexico and is somewhat of a curious interior landscaping plant. Likes full sun to part shade. lovely pretty white pink flowers above, and a protea.... and back down in the city, my dancing lady orchid.... azaleas..... irises.... above a yesterday today and tomorrow.... a double hibiscus....
