Brenda Photo Challenge WOOD

Image
I love this tree that we used to walk past, down in Inwood Park (NYC)... I couldn't resist putting this one in...since I am missing him so much! Requiem for a tree that no longer exists...condemned for being in a playground...and not safe apparently. The baby and I were passing by when it was cut down. I decided to stand a long way off, as the rope they tied the strongest last branch to was not looking strong enough to me. Sure enough, it broke, and the branch fell on top of the tree loppers car. Just as well it didn't fall on his helper down below, who emerged, and looked at the rope as if to say.."why did that happen"? Now this lump of wood we found in the Natural History Museum in New York. WOW. What did they cut that one down for? And the finished product...houses built from wood, in my home town in Australia.
