flowers for Kate

Image
Some flowers for a special blogger..  Thinking of you today Kate...  A visit from my sister was a wonderful opportunity to go visit the Pioneer Cottage at Buderim  and admire the display of Spring flowers in the garden  A stunning iris, and some simple daisies...  A little word...about these birds... they came right up to the window and the door early this morning, at almost the same time as Kate was writing her post. They sat there unafraid as I opened the door, and talked to me.. well, they warbled. It was as if they were trying to tell me something! Tonight as I read the news from Kate on a friend's blog,  I knew what they had been to tell me!! May God Bless Kate and her family as they mourn the loss of their dear husband, and father.

Tra la

Tra la...here we are trying out the grand piano after the baptism...a wonderful composition in honor of his sister! I think. Or just enjoying himself. someone also really likes playing trains and a walk back down to the park yesterday brought more surprises another dogwood flowering...that was nice to see and the little baby geese were up under the tree on my way back.... gosh they have grown... and more flowers out I really liked these ones around at the Dyckman farmhouse the irises are just divine and I call this one a weigela...very similar to one I had back in Queensland very pretty. All in all not a bad weekend when one is not well, and can't stop coughing. But getting better slowly. I think. I hope.

A vision of blue

Image
It wasn't the most pleasant weather up on the mountain, but the vision of blue was spectacular, in Queen's Park, Toowoomba. all part of the Carnival of Flowers weekend. A busy weekend, lots to see and do I always love the delicate irises tucked up in their bed beside the hedge. But this whole BLUE massed display was just STUNNING. I thought I was in heaven!

some flowers for you

Image
an iris I found after church this morning a bougainvillea at Bribie Island during the week... flowers on the kurrajong tree this morning at church.. I don't know the name of this bush above, but it had a very pretty flower. Did I say how much I love the irises? even the Christmas bells were out in full bloom... Remembering 9/11

Todays Flowers from Queen's Park Toowoomba

Image
First of all, some orchids from my front yard ... then some images taken from Queen's Park in Toowoomba. We have been very lucky to have seen them all, especially since it is about 3 weeks until their Carnival of Flowers parade. because of the warmer weather, everything seemed to be flowering earlier. The rununculas were looking great.... the pansies striking but my absolute favorites this year were the white and pink beds.... how pretty they were.. I haven't actually seen them do a bed like this before that I can remember.... But of course the irises were amazing as usual...I love irises, especially the blue and purple ones!
