Last glimpse of the sky from my back verandah for a little while... I caught the train to Roma Street station, above...to catch the train to the airport... below. It is so nice to be on the train, and not sitting in the early morning traffic that I could see out the window! to fly all the way...to the USA...to visit my little family here in NY...have landed safely tonight...my body is gently rocking from the long haul 24 hr door to door flights...and I am needing some sleep. Howard beach station as I caught the train in from the airport was wet...and winter! But now to catch up on some bright Australian skies from last weekend up at the beach.! ... last weekend at Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast. I had occasion to travel north of the city of Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast..this is the mouth of the Maroochy River. Looks like there are plenty of fishing spots. The surf club, and some of the many apartments. Along the Maroochy River, you can still see some of the original mangroves... plenty of picnic spots! there are all sorts of choices to make in the housing.... it is in the sub-tropics.... This wonderful stand of palms marks the entrance to the Lutheran College. There is a university on the other side of the hill too! lovely pandanus line the foreshores..... there were some surfers on their surf boards out there.... even though it looked a bit choppy to me....
