AS you may be aware there have been many happenings in Australia lately. Terrible Fires, Flash Floods, Hail Storms, Dust storms, not to mention The Australian Open tennis in Melbourne. Today is the day we have usually celebrated Australia Day, but for some it has become a little disrespectful to our indigenous First Nation people for us to be celebrating on this date! One assumes that over time this issue will be resolved. And so with great respect to the people who lived here before the Europeans arrived, I share some photos of the parade in our little main street.   the Australian flag was raised...held firmly by an old Holden car from the fifties!  the light horse brigade was a part of the parade ... (having great difficulties transferring photos from phone to computer via email)  so bear with me they may not all appear here!! Did I post the African violet yet? It has been so pretty... and the full moon was pretty good too ...  always fun to see the Australia Day parade go past  even though  the date we celebrate it  seems to be becoming  quite contoversial some people even call it Invasion Day... the tennis has been interesting too, but of course I have been forgetting to take photos of it!
