Christmas scenes in Australia are quite different to the northern hemisphere! Although it may look cold, it wasn't.  It has been quite warm and sunny at times, rainy and humid at other times. But we have been mostly lucky and had fun with family.  A barbecue at sunset was a great time, The last two posts have been partly for Donna at Country Days and Journeys and the little photo competition which is about pre Christmas scenes this month! No doubt there will be more to come!

The addition of some sunlight, always makes a photo come to life, I think! so much nicer to have a sunny day than a dull one! Of course, on a rainy day, one can always swing the camera around to a more interesting angle:  or zoom in on the distant buildings over the passage. (or go shopping)!!! On a bright sunny day, just add an effervescent child whose favorite color is RED and whose favorite occupation is climbing hello there! My daughter thought I was very clever taking photos when I had left my camera at her place the night before! I did too. I think the phone camera takes just as good a photo as the proper one! Well, at least with me, who only shoots on automatic, at the helm!! I am sorry for this very late addition as a contribution to The Personal Photo Challenge for this month, hosted by the wonderful Donna from Cottage Days and Journeys.  It has been nice to sit and watch the ships glide by down the passage to Brisbane  this building always intrigues me  It has been a little wet the last few days Northern tip of Bribie Island and the buildings of Golden Beach behind  what's this coming down this morning early?  an outlaw here tells me it is a container ship with its own loading gear? Guess I have to believe it. Off it goes to Brisbane. If only I could google the shipping news. I'll have to go buy a paper to see what it is/was! It has been fun to have fun with the sibling reunion..good to catch up with everyone again, especially a niece visiting from Geneva!! May life at your place be just as fun this week.

but still time to have fun at the beach playing, waiting for cousins to play with another rainy day at the beach with the life guards close at hand with our large crew of assembled extended family and another couple of families ...with ten more children.... and rough, not ideal conditions... our kids were content with playing on the sand luckily making cars and volcanoes, and bridges and tunnels requiring many buckets of water pouring what a fun day we had...

The sun was just setting as we finished our bbq at the beach, and I was just putting some things in the car when I turned back to see this sunset..! the skies were mostly fine when we needed them ..to get to the ocean and swim! A school of porpoises swam past just as we were swimming...it sure is hard to get a close up photo of a moving porpoise! I was down at the calm water one day without my camera when I saw this photo...I am soo glad I borrowed my son's camera to take the shot!
