As I said before I love the architecture when I go to Melbourne. I also love looking at the patterns in things when I take photos. These are just three of the ones I took when I was there for a conference. Have been a bit slow updating this blog lately. Must be the gorgeous baby that I mind a few days a week that distracts me from my blog!  Always the interesting bits get left out of my diary when I am busy busy.

the old and the very new... Have been terribly slow at updating this blog. But couldn't resist some more of the architecture from when I was there. If I hadn't photographed the sign on the gate, it  might look to me as if they spelled the name of the house wrongly  in the last photo, but I rather think they might be correct and I might be wrong!! ANZAC being a very iconic word here. ;-)

I love the trams in Melbourne, and I miss the fact that we used to have them up here...   then they got rid of them! Although I think I saw one being welcomed to the Gold Coast the other day, what a good idea. Some of these I may have snapped on my phone as we went by in a taxi....especially this last one, and as we spent very little time there, I have no idea what building this is, apart that it reminds me of one in NYC!  ;-) Of course the musical Les Miserables was on at the time. Not that we went, but it was good to see the colourful banners in the street advertising it. That's all for now. Next time, maybe some photos of some of the flora from around about.

How to survive the heatwave, when not at the beach fun with board games inside in the airconditioning with family and friends... not to mention watching the tennis on the television... sometimes I am lucky enough to go down to Melbourne\  and see the tennis  while visiting family but since they have been up here visiting .. and only flew home yesterday, it is fine to stay put for a while and do nothing much ... and watch it on the tv. unfortunately, the Australians are not doing too well!!!

all good things must come to an end... but with a couple more days left, a visit to a garden planted with native plants of Australia... quite near this wonderful old mansion on top of a rise...on the outskirts of Melbourne... everyone seems very interested...and very knowledgeable too! a quick duck into the local library on the way home...where the author Allan Marshall is remembered in a sculpture outside a lovely old wooden train bridge passes by... the mobile library is visiting because of the renovations at the library.... and back home...where is the cat? What are you doing up there gorgeous? Not looking for birds or possums are you? I know you only bring in mice...and maybe a rabbit? lovely colored fungii on the walk down by the river... bucolic... do we have to go back yet...couldn't we stay and chase rabbits for a bit?
