APOLOGIES TO MY FLOWER'S READERS...please scroll down to next post below! Yesterday I went to a protest walk! We were protesting about a proposed freeway bypass that would go behind where I live. There was a good turnout of people...dogs...the greenies...the media.... Even the local Koalas turned up! Someone had put up photos of the local wildlife that will be affected. The local schoolchildren had obviously been encouraged to decorate their own T-shirts, and make signs indicating the local wildlife that is threatened. Local wildlife and koala experts were there and explained where koalas had been sighted. But they told us that we had a real fight on our hands , as the state and federal governments are not at all interested in preserving the koalas, when they are in the road of progress. How sad! I thought it was very sad that this lady said she was real tired of being the bad lady (well that wasn't quite the word she used), always having to fight for the koala. Obviously s...
