catching up... everything is starting to bloom

the tree down at the nature center is starting to bloom at last and the cherry tree on the corner backward somersaults at gym on the beam and certificates too more blooms around and about the children's garden at the hospital is all closed off due to big construction work in the park/garden...nice to be able to see it throught the windows! I noticed the dogwood flowering out there...very pretty and some of Mummy's very perfumed flowers....

My World Easter Sunday and a stroll through Central Park

On Easter Sunday the baby got to open his first Easter present. Then we all went off to church down at W86th St. The kids came bounding in at the end waving banners while the congregation and the choir all sang the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah. The banner at the front of the church, is a very apt description of how this congregation sees it's role in the community. The flowers were very beautiful. I love the simple stained glass windows. After church, and fellowship over coffee afterward was over. we strolled over to Central Park...it was a little cool...should I say cold...with a nasty cold wind blowing, but we were well dressed for the weather, luckily! the spring flowers were looking gorgeous and the apartments too It seemed a great day for photography.. Here is a shot of the blossoms on the east side from the Jackie Onassis reservoir and the Guggenheim seems as if it is still under wraps...well, at least only the roof this time! And here we end our lovely walk in...

My World , in Nerw York

We spend quite a bit of time in the park ...I love looking at the fungus starting to break down all the old vegetation! They were all out playing baseball the other day. There are at least 4 baseball diamonds in the Inwood Park. and of course all the spring blossoms are starting ..... I wandered down to the Columbia Presbyterian Medical school ....always an amazing place! the chapel and garden are always delightful, and spring is blossoming there too! Another walk in the park....I love the massive rocks that New York is built on. I find it so hard to photograph them to show their size. the squirrels are out ...this one was a black one...the ones I see are usually brown... We wandered through 103rd street to the station on Sunday coming back from church... I guess this is technically probably part of Harlem.... On our wander along Riverside Drive I was struck again by how bare and grey brown everything is in winter, but there are bright moments of color that stand out every now and the...
