Ross Roy
I went to the kid's school...where they used to go to school a long time ago now (it seems), to pick up a CD of some music for an older friend of mine...and of course, who could go past this building without taking a photo! The residence now known as Ross Roy was built for tea merchant Daniel Collings (1897). The residence is located at the Hart’s Road entrance to St. Peter’s Lutheran College. It was purchased from the Collings family in 1910 by pastoralist William Ross Munro who renamed it Ross Roy – Ross from his own name and Roy, the name of his eldest son. Ross Roy is part of the admin at the school...it has been renovated since the school has owned it, (and also since my kids were there), and was where my daughter was allowed to practice on the boarder's pianos before school. (We didn't own a piano at that stage...quite an impressive feat for her to have done a music exam never having owned a piano). Good on you Jo for your persistence and determination, some qual...
