beautiful Caloundra

Image
I decided to go for a walk along the boardwalk at Caloundra on my way up to visit the kids the other day. This lamp seems to have sprouted some branches... lots of pandanus trees line the shore a view of King's Beach after walking around the headland there were people in swimming...a little chilly for my liking, but I guess if you are visiting from the south of the continent then maybe it feels a little warmer ... the pool is always a good place ...perched beside the ocean to be filled with sea water... where did these birds come from? another sculpture looks pretty relaxing and now to walk back again... a pandanus nut...I think they have to be boiled or roasted....mmm...should look it up, or are they inedible? Pandanus plants click for more info... another link the Glasshouse Mountains are always interesting as they rise above the back of Caloundra I am told this is a New Zealand Christmas bush. Very pretty.

books books books...

Image
there are all sorts of books, especially in this old falling down house...old books... very old books newer books...some of my older favorites...downstairs I found these... lots of second hand books, some of my parents older books that I haven't even read yet... I wonder if the kindle or ipad will take over.... I don't think so....who could replace a book...especially a child's story book...it wouldn't be the same would it? This forms part of the Brenda Photo Challenge this month. On BOOKS. Please go to the link to see other participants...

wattle time again

Image
since it is the time of the year here when the wattles are all out and looking lovely I was very happy when I actually managed to find a tree much closer to home and had time to do it justice, sort of instead of having to jump in the car to go searching and stand by the side of the road and try to photograph one these are all taken from the same tree. I had found a tree on the side of the road on my way home from tennis the other day, and parked my car in someone's driveway off the road (a bit busy), and lo and behold I had only taken a a couple of photos before the owner of the property came home and needed to get into their driveway...argh! Needless to say they weren't very good photos, taken in a rush.
