It has been lovely to be here in Inwood, New York just as the spring flowers are opening just love the crocuses, striped, or plain and the window boxes of color in the street.... I bought a tulip for my daughter to put in the window and promptly dropped it while watering it, poor thing...so I hope it will be ok! the local markets were displaying a colorful array of flowers today....marigolds... and petunias.....and the daffodils have been a sight to behold! I think these three above look like three little maids from school...all standing up straight in the back row behaving themselves! and when I look at this one, I think they are whispering to themselves, or is it to us? These are just hanging around enjoying the game !! I took most of these photos around at the Dyckman farmhouse, an original old farmhouse that has been preserved here in Inwood. Hi from me again. It is only 6.30am. Waking at 5.30am in the morning is a little better than the 4am of the last couple of days! At last the jetlag might be shifting! It is also nice now the heatwave has ended, and we can open the windows for a cool breeze. Ah lovely! Yesterday I managed to get not too lost and find the Historic Dyckman Framhouse just down the road. (I am having a little trouble getting my bearings again, especially in a new suburb)! Anyway, it was good to have a walk, even though most of it was in the wrong direction, after I came back from accompanying Jo to work. Good to read and find out a little of the history of the place. Hard to imagine this suburb way back when it was a farming area! Here is the photo of the storm the other night when I came up out of the subway. Except I didn't manage to capture the lightning..sorry about that! I managed to lose it off this post the other night. Some nice fellow showed me where the elevators were that night, and then wait...
