a few flowers from around about...Purple Heart is easy to propagate from cuttings, even in a glass of water on the windowsill. Purple Heart may also be called Tradescantia pallida ‘Purpurea’. flowering at the moment...all the lovely cassias..... Cassia didymobotrya Fresen. [family CAESALPINIACEAE] love these last two simple ones...The lavenders ( Lavandula ) are a genus of 39 species of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae and some simple daisies....Dimorphotheca pluvialis, the African Moon are the white daisy flowers, native of Namibia . African Moon flowers are also commonly called as Oxeye daisy, Rain Daisy, Cape Daisy, Witbotterblom . African Moon is cultivated as field crop for oil seed production particularly in Northern Europe. Hi there..here are a selection of flowers for you , from New York City (later) to the flowers I have come across here at home since my touchdown yesterday morning. I am sorry if things are not of a high quality. Operating under difficulties here...jet lag, plus an old desktop computer, since I left the power cord to the laptop in NYC...ha...aren't I clever? I wonder how long it will take in the post. Fortunately I had just enough battery left to transfer most of my photos to my little external hard drive! Whew! First of all a view of the fall leaves, above...it is actually officially winter here, and that is about all the fall colors you will get to see...an occasional Japanese maple or two... the wattle was looking very pretty when I went to church this morning.... some new gum leaves I couldn't resist photographing.... bougainvillea.... and the pretty poinsettias next door...it is winter here now, so they are flowering now, which means they are nowhere to be seen at Chris...

I think the above photo might have appeared in last week's flower post...sorry if I am repeating myself! some of these flowers I have almost forgotten where I took the photos. But this one is in the park garden across the road here at Inwood. these roses were at the local Catholic church...lovely! There are a couple of close ups of these red ones further down in this post. and another garden at the entrance to the park... I really love these couple of shots of the lavender.... and of course the blue irises.... these pink flowers were colorful and striking! and I just loved the pink roses, at the Dyckman farmhouse....absolutely gorgeous. More below. a gardenia? are these little blue ones forget me nots? pansies of course.. yellow roses again at ther Dyckman farmhouse and the pink flower again...I wonder what it is? Unfamiliar to me. An Iris down the road has been looking lovely! I love these white flowers above... and would this one above be another dogwood? some lavender? lovely humble roses at the entrance to the park.... and these white flowering trees are everywhere at the moment! I am glad I got up close to these...they are so lovely.... there are some of us with allergies to something, and so the time spent walking past some of the trees is minimal! window boxes...not such a good focus this week, sorry.... and the flower off the tulip tree....just lovely!
