Fast Food..the Challenge photos..

Please try clicking here for the correct link: Central Park Sky After what seemed like forty days of rain.... some blue skies appeared and so did the birds... enjoying their fast food ... of course there had been plenty of water to drink.... can you see the scrub turkey above? was he just resting in the trees, or looking for some fast food, or avoiding being fast food for a snake perhaps? Do snakes like and eat turkeys I wonder? I can't imagine them wrapping their jaws around this guy. the gum leaves and blossoms are being stripped off any flowering trees and the lorikeets are having a field day with the fast food.... The Pied Currawong visited again, "have you any food for me here" , he asks.... sorry, Pied Currawong, I am not allowed to feed the birds (in this part of the world) it's OK...I think I see something down here.... yes, here it i...

I love the view out my kitchen window..to the hills... especially when I have a visitor... this bird has been coming to visit.... almost every day.... one day he was just talking quietly to himself out there... so lovely....actually I think he was intrigued by the green light on my camera every time I took a photo of him...(the red eye reduction)! We decided he must be a Pied Currawong. Unfortunately he isn't as innocent as he looks...I think he might be responsible for the disappearance of some of the smaller species of birds around the place. I hope it isn't him that is causing a ruckus in the middle of the night...twice now I have awoken to very loud sqawks of a bird...very startling in the middle of the night! The 'Currawong problem' is a case of a predator getting out of control. The population of Pied Currawongs, Strepera graculina , on the east coast of Australia is believed to have increased dramatically with the creation of this favourable habitat by humans. P...
