going to University

Image
Always enjoy the colors on the new car park at the University. And the banksia bushes, with the quaint banksia flowers. In the next post I will have to show you a little of the latest exhibition at the art gallery there. Now it is back to watching some gymnastics at the Olympics in Rio. Hope you have been able to watch some too.

A surprise at the Beach

Image
As I wandered across for my weekly fish and chip lunch at the beach  I found a visiting cruise ship anchored offshore  they come and pop in every so often   and  as there is no large port facilities for cruise ships  they have to anchor offshore and the people brought in by small boats... It seemed to be so close....I wondered if the tide went out it might get left high and dry  ;-) I'm glad there weren't too many people deciding to have lunch at my quiet little fish and chip shop. (I usually avoid going across to the beach if I know there is a cruise ship expected....to avoid the traffic). Hope your week has been full of little pleasant surprises too!!

the planets align...a few photos from my week...

a water dragon down by the creek  another lovely camellia blooms and the planets align...I was a little late and only caught this photo of Jupiter and the moon...although I was lucky enough to see Saturn and Mars also before I ducked inside for the camera. Must have missed Mercury and Venus, or they were hiding behind the clouds on the western horizon.. Have a great week everyone, hope you are able to relax and watch some of the Olympics... (editing this post while watching the Opening ceremony on TV)
