some Australian skies

Image
a lovely gum tree sets off the wonderful early morning blue skies... lovely rain showers during the week.... and some views looking up from the wild bit of (former) rain forest down the back of my back yard... mostly blue skies the last couple of days.....but hopefully more rain on the way...trying not to hear them say we are entering an el nino event...which will mean less rain this summer. [Adelaide and Melbourne in the south of the country already entering about the fifth day of an early heatwave]! and stuck in the traffic on the way home...taking a photo of other people stuck in traffic. Since the road works on Coronation Drive have started for three months, who wants to be out on the road nowadays? for more views of skies from contributors around the world, please click on the Skywatch button over in the sidebar...

Skywatch from NY and Washington

Image
One of the NY buildings peeping through the mist the other day we walked through The Rambles across Central Park...to get to the other side. Not a very efficient way to do it, but nice views like this! The skies were blue and pleasant while I was in Washington DC for a few days last week. The skies in New York have been misty, foggy, fine and sunny , very wet, and smoggy at times! An interesting sky shot from Central Park, as we walked back across from the Met the other day. SKYWATCH FRIDAY

Image
Thought I would start off with a brighter look at the sky today, even though we have had more storms and rain this week, and more is forecast to come! A few images from last week. It has been raining again this week, so I haven't taken many photos! I think I need to explain that the photo above was taken through the car windscreen when I arrived in Toowoomba last week. Hence the spots! I just love the colour of the sky in these. It is always surprising to be taking photos and discover the moon is up there! as well as a bird! I call these Mickey Birds. But the storm clouds didnt stay away for long. They are still around. A really great start to the wet season for us!
