Psalm 62 MY SOUL FINDS REST IN GOD ALONE

Image
1My Soul finds rest in God alone my salvation comes from him. 2He alone is my rock and salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. 3How long will you assault a man? Would all of you throw him down- this leaning wall, this tottering fence? .... 7My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. 8Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. 9Lowborn men are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie; if weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath. 10Do not trust in extortion or take pride in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them. 11One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong, and that you , O lord, are loving.

Skywatch Friday

Image
My skywatch photos from the week gone by. Mostly Melbourne skies. But this first one is a sunset I took here before I left. There were so many magnificent sunrises that week!!! This one I took from my sister's place...in Melbourne and these must have been from my son's place... this one was a shot I took at church before I went to Melbourne a few weeks ago. and a photo of a corrugated iron roof in town at the railway station .... I thought there looked like a bit of an oriental influence in this shot I took out of my bedroom window one morning down there! It was just the ordinary house next door. The skies varied between clear and cloudy while I was there. At present you may have heard they are heading for their third day of above 40 degree clesius (over 100 fahrenheit) record breaking heatwave in the state of Victoria and South Australia and neighbouring southern NSW. The same influence that is bringing the heatwave there, is bringing showers to us here in Queensland. I love...

Home again..home again..

My welcome to Melbourne a couple of weeks ago. (Now that I am home and downloaded photos)! They had the Australian (tennis) Open flags flying at the airport when I got there! The welcome to the city as you drive in! I love all the "art/sculpture" work they have around the city! And the new ferris wheel we went past! and the light poles all lined up in the twilight... the fading sun shining on this building..it was after 8.30pm..daylight saving is in at the moment! part of the City of Melbourne a shopping trip is always welcome...especially the air-conditioning on a hot day! the kids really enjoyed the merry-go-round! and what about these BIG tennis balls Grandma...no sorry, they weren't for sale...you had to go to the tennis to buy them! a trip to the strawberry shortcake shop to decorate a cupcake was fun for a 5 yr old...especially meeting Strawberry Shortcake herself! Another wiggle go round...is that what they call it? Looks like fun for the littlies anyway! A trip...

Looking Up...Brenda Photo Challenge

Image
I looked out the window the other day while I was staying with my sister ...and saw this cute photo! I thought it was ok for my Looking Up series! Then while I was at the shopping centre here in Melbourne, I looked up and saw this when I walked in. Just as well I carry the camera with me (and it isn't all that small either)! Of course, then there was the ceiling/roof of the said centre to photograph too! These are a couple of photos I took at eltham.... I really like this one! Please click on the Brenda Photo Challenge to see other participants in the Challenge, but just remember I am a couple of days late! So you may have to go back to find their entries on their blog..depending if they post often or not!

Wish I were there!

Just for posterity, I am recording these scenes here! For any of my regular visitors, no, I am not in New York with family. I am still with family in Melbourne where they are about to have a heat wave predicted for the next week...very tinder dry here in the state of Victoria, and a great fire danger when there are high temps and high winds. Prayers for rain and a relief from the heat wave conditions required! Now you see why I am enjoying the scenes from NY. Scenes around Inwood, Manhattan. We used to walk past this house on our way to the physio. anyone for tennis? Inwood Hill Park and Harlem River ..frozen! and a frozen playground!

Friday Skywatch Post

This is a funny sky shot from a while ago when I was in Melbourne...of me being silly out in the old backyard! Since I have no photos of my own downloaded here at the moment..I thought I would go thru some of my old ones that seem to be still on here! Myabe later on I may find some better photos! Please click on the skywatch icon if you wish to see other more inspiring skies from contribultors from around the world!

Melbourne and the Australian Open

In Melbourne for a family party...and maybe get to go to the Australian (tennis) Open ..weather permitting...(that is if it isn't too hot for me...have had a couple of awfully hot days to start with)! I pity the players! This is a photo courtesy of my grand daughter...she already is learning to pose objects for the camera!
