yesterday I had a couple of visitors..... these gorgeous kookaburras were sitting warbling on the verandah outside the kitchen... luckily I was able to pick up the camera and snap some photos of them without frightening them away... I think the one on the right might have been a younger bird...I thought his head close up looked a bit like an emu! Very cute! Aren't they beautiful? and here is one of the orchids just blooming in time for Spring ...in case you missed them in my previous post!

Despite some cool overnight temperatures still the orchids are starting to flower always a wonderful sight to behold... welcoming some warmer days.

Come along to High Tea on Sunday afternoon with me.... A dear friend, kindly helped by friends and family, has been knitting knitting knitting... scary tea cozy fruity tea cozy... mushroom and pineapple tea cozies.... lots of colorful tea cozies.... and a selection of teapots...all to sell to raise funds for Motor Neurone disease research licorice allsorts tea cozy another one...now I wonder what this one is? anyway, all is set.... so come on in... and partake of some fine fare... ymmm...delicious... the tea is ready to be poured... some fine entertainment... sitting around catching up chatting.... but unfortunately time does move on.... and too soon it is time to leave.... to go home.... but not before admiring the irises.... and rose hips? A wonderful idea and afternoon for High Tea. So glad to be able to help out with funds for Motor Neurone Disease research. Let there be a cure found before too long! Quite a few of the tea cosies here were knitted from the books Wild Tea Co...

orchids are about to bloom. Reminds me , I don't know why, of the little sound bite, from Sound Bite Ministries , that I received by email this morning: S O U N D B I T E S: Something to chew on that is good for the soul TRANSFORMED '' Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds".... some more photos from around town the People's Palace..accommodation for the poor... even a starbucks... the "ekka" is our annual Royal Agricultural Show...where the country comes to the city each year...kids can see all sorts of animals (except pigs this year, courtesy of the swine flu)? And the parents can find anything else from tractors to the latest model cars, iced cakes, and quilts. more images from around town..or should I say the city... and ending off with our dear City Hall, which is currently closed for (expensive) renovations.

some pot plants ... and brooms for cleaning up inside... lovely tilled earth in the vegetable and flower garden and the sheep grazing on the ground nearby. I will have to come up with an appropriate Bible Text here ..all I can think of at the moment is " Sheep May Safely Graze " which is the name of my all time favorite piece of music by Bach.
