concentration and having fun ...while you can...

Image
concentrating... carefully... making time for fun and relaxation, even when you are feeling a little unwell...  learning to play new notes, in a new skirt learning a new balancing trick.. and having fun at the beach while you can... the kids have had some days off their normal routines while they were just a little unwell, and this Grandma gets more fun days to be with them.. This week, I am a teeny little bit unwell, so I have enjoyed catching up with Ann Voskamp's blog   Holy Experience and some of her latest links... her weekend links are always inspirational, especially the two I have read so far on some of the world's greatest libraries, and four sisters photographed every year....for 36 years...interesting..and wonderful! and On being a MOM she shared at In Courage was good too.... Thank you to Ann for being so open and honest, and inspirational... and faithful!

Watch Out...for Kangaroos..and Ruby Wax

Image
If you happen to be visiting the University of the Sunshine Coast then keep an eye out for these huge kangaroos. You've been warned...Beware of the Kangaroos... please don't go near them...they are not tame! I worry that the overseas students who see and pet them at Australia Zoo nearby or Lone Pine,  near where I used to live,or any other wildlife sanctuary,  might think these ones can be approached too! They are a bit large for comfort. This one was just so close to the buildings and students walking past. It was almost, if not as big as, some of the students! He was quite absorbed by the activities of the Early Childhood Unit. They were outside on the grass learning about all sorts of activities for children. and another interesting llink for today: Ruby Wax on Depression and Mindfulness

Looking at the local flora, and Being Inspired.

some interesting things flowering at the moment  wish I knew what to call the one above, think it might be a melaleuca and these little things below are so pretty and delicate!! May God go with all who are overwhelmed, disillusioned, lonely, bored , stressed or sick.  May he give them a glimpse of his light and love to strengthen them, and renew their minds and bodies and faith. May he Bless them and keep them May his face shine upon them And be gracious to them. May he lift up the light of his countenance upon them and give them His Peace. And for the weary at heart...a glimpse of heaven two links from Ann Voskamp's Holy Experience blog ... on How to celebrate a significant birthday (Being the Real Giving Tree) and also how to celebrate a birthday (two) (How to have the best birthday)!! Thanks so much Ann  for sharing the love of God with us and with your village.

WATER ..A Personal Photo Challenge

Image
one of the best things about water,  is that first glimpse ... whether it is the first glimpse from the back seat driving to the beach with your parents or walking up over the sand dunes, the first glimpse is magic.  Today's post is an entry into Donna's Personal Photo Challenge for this month and the subject is WATER... Please visit Donna's Photo Challenge Blog and visit some of the other entries...and maybe you may just have time to enter yourself...this month or next ... ps Apologies for the quality of photos taken, camera still broken, most of these from the archives of mainly recent cell phone photos.

the wattle trees are flowering... in the great Australian bush... these photos were taken from the car park at the University of the Sunshine Coast. I'll have to go for a walk across to the other side  and try to take a photo of the kangaroos that lie around the place.

Grandma enjoys playing with the kids...and their toys... A little granddaughter suddenly realized that dolly had no clothes...so bear had to have some too! Very hastily made, but fun too. A little more work needs to be done I think.
