 one day in this kitchen I noticed almost everything on the little island bench was orange  the lovely old water dragons are slowly emerging after our winter  I can never work out whether this is an egret or a cormorant, maybe someone will know? The weeds appear to be taking over in the creek ...  on my rambling walks I notice the spiky grass is seeding/flowering the waterlilies are coming back again  the brillantsia is flowering again...or is it brilliantasia... I can never remember, they did tell me at the herbarium in Brisbane once when I went to get it identified..  a wonderful rose that this photo does little justice to  can you see the bridge between the trees?  love these colorful ..crotons??  and this little fountain type sculpture at the cafe up the road ... (hard to get in a spot for a good photo )  the orchids above and the bougainvillea below are flowering too  but it is so so dr...

a modest collection this week...agapanthus, some of my favorites, in time for a starry Christmas ! the azaleas have been most beautiful the second time around...but almost finishing now after another couple of warm days by the looks... I found this scraggly little flower in front of a gum tree, way down the back yard earlier in the week....I don't know it's name , I am sorry... and of course the lovely frangipani is starting to flower down there too, some of you may have seen it earlier in the week, I am sorry, I coudn't resist showing you again! a lovely pink flowering bush as I was leaving Toowoomba today...wish I actually got out of the car and got a bit closer for you..it was very pretty...is it a euphorbia...mm..is that even the name of a flower...? ;-) and the petria next door is looking good ...I love the individual little flower petals, how they float down all over my yard, and in the pool...so pretty! and of course to end off, some more agapanthus....I thought th...

Some pretty flowers during the week, mainly up on the range in Toowoomba....petunias... jacarandas.... hibiscus.... cactus type flowers.... silky oak.... someone told me this is a yukka....but I googled yukka and I don't think it is now? Found another one out at tennis and they tell me it is a pony tail palm, a native of Mexico... The "Ponytail Palm" is really not a palm at all. It is a member of the Lilaceae (lily family), and is known as "elephant's foot" because of its bulbous base. It is native to the desert of Mexico and is somewhat of a curious interior landscaping plant. Likes full sun to part shade. lovely pretty white pink flowers above, and a protea.... and back down in the city, my dancing lady orchid.... azaleas..... irises.... above a yesterday today and tomorrow.... a double hibiscus.... I found these trees on the way home from tennis...I had to turn around and find somewhere to park (in a lady's driveeway) to get this shot. Flame trees are just stunning when you see them, especially when they are growing beside a jacaranda ! and of course the carpet the jacaranda leaves on the ground....apologies to those who saw them during the week...(I couldn't wait till Sunday)... a lovely floral arrangement at dinner during the week...I think that looks like a bromeliad flower.... a funny little ochna flower...I just discovered it is also called the mickey mouse plant...a shrub that was introduced to Australia from South Africa in the early 1900's (I think).... a lovely garden I pass on my walk...the pink flowers were petunias I think! and my pink flowering tree (which I had identified as a Lagunaria patersonius during the week from the herbarium at Mt Cootha)...more commonly known as a Norfolk Island Hibiscus apparently...is nearly finished flowering...very sa...
