 spring flowers  trips to Toowoomba for special occasions  always enjoy seeing these grain silos again...  and of course the jacarandas were looking good too  love the Brisbane architecture, in particular this house as I pass by each trip another old Queenslander house and sometimes even the army is on the move... It has been quite wet lately after a VERY LONG DRY spell...and I have had several trips to Toowoomba, the Garden City for several reasons... and I notice the next folder of photos hasn't been edited yet, so they will have to go in the next edition...hopefully next week!! Wisteria..one of my all time favourites... the always beautiful daisies... Just a few of the wonderful spring gardens in Toowoomba, mainly from Picnic Point. Will have to save some of the best for the next post. Hope you are able to enjoy flowers from a  garden, wherever you are today. May God Bless You and Keep You.

Last weekend I was in Toowoomba, on my way home from church on Sunday, I took a little drive through the center of town where the events of January10 were to prove disastrous flooding in these streets and normal little waterways... claiming lives, and cars in the inland tsunami there It was all so unbelievable, I am still trying to get it all sorted out in my mind where it all happened... this mild looking creek was to cause the worst devastation and loss of life as it could no longer cope with the copious amounts of runoff coming down the mountain, and roared through the sleepy little towns of Murphy;s creek, Spring Bluff, Helidon, and the badly devastated little township of Grantham and from this very high vantage spot a humble little cactus and the Brisbane river below showing the flood marks from weeks before and this flimsy fence was all that stopped me from tumbling over the edge of the very high bank of the river...glad I don't live here to worry about kids and grandchildre...

a rare moment of peace and tranquility at the Japanese Gardens up the mountain at Christmas time! It must have been due to the weather, or the fact that it was late Christmas Eve when I took these photos, but the place was practically deserted. What a shame. Such beauty going to waste! Does beauty go to waste if there is no-one there to appreciate it? Anyway, I am glad I saw it at such a time. Very serene. When all around at the moment was rain rain rain. And now almost the whole of the state of Queensland is affected by floods. Whole country towns are being evacuated. May God go with them, and with the authorities as they help.
