I was lucky to have an outing to Wave Hill Garden , at Riverdale in the Bronx last week. We traveled there by bus from Inwood. And walked down the hill to the garden. Very easy. And a lovely walk also. Past this Episcopalian church. Wave Hill sits on the edge of the Hudson River, overlooking the New Jersey Palisades of course! There are many buildings, and hot houses, green houses. Someone didn't choose a very good spot for her camera for the family photo shoot, did she Grandma? Oh well, at least someone else got a good photo! A hot house full of cacti... lots of flowers that I have never seen before...mostly the American temperate zone ones. Some one enjoyed stretching his legs on the grass.... I am not quite sure why I put this photo in, apart from that NY is built on rock, isn't it? Lovely outdoor gardens for wonderful weather. A few images for the Brenda Photo Challenge. I wasn't sure I would manage to get some together, but I have! The three Bears were in central Park the other day when we walked across to the Met. An iconic New York School Bus. There was a fire hydrant getting in the road of this lovely church we passed on our way to Wave Hill Garden, which is in Riverdale, in the Bronx. I am sure it must have been made out of some sort of metal. Looked like a lot of metal at the NYU library building. One of the students we were going to meet down there, told us that some students after studying there all day, think they are walking out into an Escher painting, what with all the steps and a strange mosaic type pattern on the floor of the big center atrium. I can believe him! And this was just one of the many structures, sculptures that we passed on our travels through Soho and other places down near Washington Square yesterday to get to NYU.
